Winter break in American mountains

Marta Kendziora’s winter break in the USA was full of exciting challenges!

Right after Christmas she left her host house in order to explore the Rocky mountains along with her scout girls troop. They spent 2 days in Philmont ranch going through basic training, getting to know their guide and other teammates. When the right time came, they packed their tents, sleeping bags, tons of warm clothes, sleds, crampons and started the trek up to the mountain. After a few hours of walking, they set up the tents and went sledding. As long as the sun was shining they were having fun and enjoying the wonderful views. Unfortunately, the sun went down very quickly and so did the temperature - it dropped down from -2 to -20 degrees!

Luckily, despite all the difficulties they took victory with the icy-cold weather. The very same day they went skiing in Colorado to wrap up their wonderful adventure.
